Kärt Pormeister (PhD) is an Estonian lawyer based in Tallinn, Estonia. She works with a wide range of assignments concerning Estonian and EU law, but particularly specializes in health and data protection law. Kärt is also the legal counsel of the Estonian Biobank, and serves as a national legal expert of Estonia in a number of legal networks that conduct research for the European Commission.
Before joining Smartius Kärt practiced law both in the public sector in Estonia, acting as a lawyer for the State Agency of Medicines, and as an attorney in the private sector. Kärt also teaches law both in Tallinn and Helsinki.
